La Mosca madre se agota, del calor, y de tantas cosas por las que tiene que preocuparse y encima de todo esto el tiempo no acompaña, y se meten tormentas, frío, agua, rallos y truenos cuando tenia que hacer buen tiempo - y aunque dicen que 'Al mal tiempo buena cara' el tiempo que nos gusta a todos y a las moscas mas es el buen tiempo. No hay nada mejor que participar en concursos de Siesta tumbadas o posadas en la arena calentita. Tuvimos y estuvimos las moscas jóvenes en la Sesión de cultura de política local con la mosca madre y estuvimos en "Calentita" Night! Y de las dos cosas sacamos las moscas jóvenes un gran provecho.

Estuvimos y vimos como el Pueblo disfrutaba de las costumbres y cosas sencillas de Gibraltar, como son un rato de paliqueo, tomarse una Coca Cola, comerse la 'Calentita', la música, el baile de Urban dance, que son unas bailarinas fenomenales y un display de fuegos artificiales y las luces láser…eventos múltiples que se llevaron a cabo la noche del pasado viernes. Felicitamos a los inventores de los distintos eventos y comidas, al Ministro de Cultura y a todo bicho viviente que participo de una u otra manera en hacernos pasar a las moscas jóvenes y al Pueblo de Gibraltar un rato muy agradable.

Como quien no se distraía es porque no quiere, incluso hay algunos que su distracción preferida es trasladarse a Nueva York y perderse la Calentita!

Y al que Dios se la de San Pedro se la bendiga.

Ansias de saber

Las estrella que nos vió nacer
nos iluminó el camino
para llegar al destino
y no quiso revelar
los secretos del futuro

tendríamos que esperar
impacientes y recelosos
todo es tan cauteloso

en nuestro pecho guardamos
ese deseo de saber
lo que pasara mañana
y a veces hasta pagamos
y somos tan insensatos
que las gentes nos engañan

más no hay ninguna formula
ni signo que lo revele
el futuro es un enigma
y no hay sabio que lo sepa
si quieres saber el futuro
tendrás que esperar que venga

más hay muchas personas
que desafían al futuro
y maldicen a su estrella
por su forma de vivir
se vuelven desafiante
con cambios impresionantes
radicales y violentos
para ellos es un tormento

más yo les pido que se calmen
que verán su futuro
cuando les llegue el momento

otras gentes luchadoras
no les importan esperar
consiguen sujetar sus ansias
luchadoras y elocuentes
prefieren otros recursos
con ironía y con gracia
dejan a ese futuro
valla tomando su curso

esa estrella que guió
un día nuestro camino
dijo que era más facil
no saber nuestro destino
el pasado es como un lastre
del que nadie escapara
tengamos fe en el futuro
algo bueno traerá.

Thank You to Bosom Buddies

Dear Editor,

Through your newspaper I would like to thank all those persons that bought raffle tickets or attended the "Bosom Buddies" Fashion Show this month to support Breast Cancer. I want to congratulate Miguel Peña for the incredible set that took us back well into the "History of the Movies" I also want to thank the fabulous dance groups, choreographers and dancers of Urban Dance and Danza Academy for preparing such beautifully choreographed dances, a big thank you also goes to Phillip Borge for his wonderful rendering of "Beauty and the Beast", Dilip Tailor for being the best dance teacher one can wish to have, the three presenters, Henry, Mark and Paul. The charming children who danced, and those that modelled as "The Catwalk Stars" in a most special way. The models parade by Aimee Jay Intimates, the Auction models wearing our local designer clothes to raise money for the cause. A big thank you to the designers who gave their most treasured possession for this event, Sandra, Jessica, Priscilla, Dorcas, Ismael and Galliano himself! Auctioneer Clive Martinez with his gang and Anselmo Torres 'Live' Band with the BOGARTS, who provided such beautiful rendering of songs from the Movies.

We also thank the sponsors, "INFINITE" wristbands, PriceWaterHouse Coopers, Cepsa (Gib), Shell Co. Ltd., Veralls Solicitors, Rock Photos, Bassadone Motors, Claudia's Clinic, Hairspray Salon and the Ministry of Culture. And to the hard working team led by Jackie Dalli with Jaqui Cruz, Kirsteen, Sylvia and La Chappy, all volunteers. Also and most importantly to the STARS of the show all survivors of cancer, who even though they may not have felt well at times still had the courage to model at the Bosom Buddies Show looking glamorous in beautiful clothes supplied by Heart's Boutique. Another special mention to the husbands and partners, who year in and year out are always there supporting their wives in the Show.

This is an annual event that the Bosom Buddies survivors organise every Spring to create awareness. We donate the money to Breast Cancer Support Gibraltar, Cancer Relief and Cancer Research. We are happy that this year we are donating £6,015 to this cause.
