Gibraltar Senior Citizens Association: Newsletter

We are sincerely thankful to the Royal Gibraltar Regiment Association for their kind donation to the association's general fund.

Travel Insurance.

As a consequence of having organised an excursion to Benidorm, we have received a number of requests for advice on travel insurance as this is now not only a very expensive prerequisite but indeed most advisable for seniors over the age of 70. We have duly made some inquiries and we think we have been offered a very good and competitive product which we are more than ready and willing to share with any who may be interested.

However, we are doubtful whether it would be ethical for us to publish details of this offer in our newsletters due to market competition and so on. Similarly, as we doubt whether it would be correct for us to expect the media to provide what would be tantamount to free publicity, we are not publishing details but instead ask those senior citizens who may be interested to contact any committee member for further details.

On the subject of Benidorm itself, we are pleased to inform that the coach has been filled 100% and we now look forward to a successful excursion.

Those who may thinking of using public transport on the 14th are well advised to inquire from the bus company which serves their route for time tables and so on. Remember that the 14th June is a Bank Holiday (Queen's Birthday) when public transport operates as on Sundays and consequently provides a much reduced service.

After sales service.

We have received a complaint from a senior citizen of very poor after sales service from a local retailer. In our effort to help, we shall be contacting and liaising with the Department for Consumer Protection requesting advice of procedure to follow in such cases and of course we shall of course publish any advice given for the benefit of all.
