REGIMENT THANKS TA EMPLOYERS

At a reception held at Devil's Tower Camp, Lt Col Colin Risso MC, the RG's Commanding Officer welcomed over thirty local employers and he thanked them for their continuing support of the Regiment's TA soldiers.

After taking the salute at a Sunset Ceremony performed by the Regimental Band - whose members are all Territorials - the CO explained that one-third of the Regiment's members were in the TA and that these soldiers were 'a massively important part of the Regimental family.'

'The hybrid nature of this unit - part Regular and part TA - is a pattern found increasingly often in UK formations.'

As well as bring their civilian skills into the TA, the CO reminded everyone that, in return, his part-time soldiers provided their employers with 'qualities such as physical fitness, teamwork, communication skills, leadership and initiative.'

Lt Col Risso concluded by asking employers for their continuing support for the TA and he asked them to 'spread the message.'
