On Thursday 11 June it was a busy day for the Royal Gibraltar Regiment. At 1200 hrs, Thomson's Battery, under the command of Capt Stuart Bensadon, fired a 21 gun Royal Gun Salute on the birthday of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Commodore Adrian Bell RN, Commander British Forces, was the Reviewing Officer.

A few hours later, a parade to celebrate the birthday of Her Majesty The Queen took place in Grand Casemates Square. The parade was conducted principally by the Royal Gibraltar Regiment under the command of Major Juri Williamson but the ceremonial White Ensign of the Royal Navy and the Standard of 202 Squadron RAF were also on parade. The Reviewing Officer was His Excellency the Governor and Commander-in-Chief, Vice Admiral Sir Adrian Johns KCB CBE.
