Advance tickets for the Convent Open Day on Saturday (19 June) are still available.
Tickets are available from the reception at The Convent from 9.00am to 5.00pm on Thursday and Friday. The tickets are free to Gibraltar residents (on production of proof of residency). Tickets for non-residents will cost £2 for adults and £1 for children (under 16) and senior citizens. All proceeds will go to Special Olympics Gibraltar and the military charity Combat Stress.
Governor Sir Adrian Johns said “Suzie and I are delighted to be able to provide this opportunity for people to enjoy the gardens, particularly those who might not previously have been able to see or visit them. I understand this has not been done for a number of years, and am therefore pleased that we can make them more accessible in this way. We're very much looking forward to the day, and to meeting people here.”
The gardens will be open from 10am to 2pm. Information on the gardens will be available and guides will be on hand to answer questions. There will be musical entertainment in the course of the day from members of the Band of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment. Refreshments will be on sale.
There will be plenty for children to enjoy, including a quiz and activities organised by the King’s Chapel, which will also be open to the public.
Numbers are limited, and admission will be on a first come, first served basis. Visitors should be aware that there is limited disabled access to the garden. Pushchairs and prams will not be admitted, although limited storage will be available.
