7 Days Gibraltar Gibraltar Flag
9th September 2010

Our gymnasts were extremely busy last weekend, as they competed at the Strait Games in Los Barrios, Estepona and Aldetor on the same day. Coach Lesley Jackson was in charge of our contingent of gymnasts, who travelled to Los Barrios in what was a very exciting competition, with children from the Campo area taking part in all sports disciplines.

Coach Gema Fernandez travelled to Estepona for the Level B and Copa competition, where Gibraltar was once again on the podium, with Emma Bosio in the Benjamin section obtaining 1st place (gold), as well as Shereen Balban in the Senior section, also placing 1st (gold). In the Alevin section, Sian Holmes placed 3rd (bronze), and the Infantil section Natalie Gomez placed 2nd (silver), with Hector Justicia placing 4th. Well done to all those who competed!

Coach Jolene Gomez travelled to Alhaurin de la Torre, to the Aldetor Gymnastics Club's Level A and Copa competition, where Gibraltar once again did very well. In the Copa section, Charlie Cooper placed 6th in the Infantil rope category, and Zoe Marais placed 3rd (bronze) in the Infantil hoop category. Leila Marais placed 3rd (bronze) in the Junior clubs section, and Gabriella Lyden, who competed in the Level A category, obtained 3rd place (bronze) with her clubs routine. Well done once again!

This weekend, Gibraltar are the hosts at our local Copa and Level A competition. There will be clubs from Portugal (Portimao), Granada (Nevada), Huelva (Illipia), Seville (Oso Panda), Conil, Estepona, Sancti Petri, Fuengirola, Cadiz (Polideportivo), Jerez taking part, and of course, our local gymnasts too.

On Saturday 12th will be the Copa competition, which starts at 15:45hrs, and on Sunday 13th, the Level A competition starts at 10:00am. So don't miss out on some top quality rhythmic gymnastics, and come to support your local gymnasts this weekend at the Tercentenary Hall!
