7 Days Gibraltar Gibraltar Flag
9th September 2010

It is with immense satisfaction that the Award is pleased to announce the contribution of £25,000 which represents the largest single donation in the Gibraltar Award’s 39 year history.

A cheque was presented by James Gaggero to David Dumas QC, Chairman of the National Council, and Michael Pizzarello, the National Director. James Gaggero, as many will remember, was directly involved with the Award locally, as Chairman of the National Council, from 1994 to 2001. Since then he continues to support the Award both locally and at an international level and in this latter context joined the ranks of the International Fellowship last year. The Fellowship includes many individuals from across the globe who, like James, are committed to ensuring the ongoing success of the International Award; and help achieve this by bolstering finances through a combination of hosting fund raising and PR events.

On presenting the cheque James was eager to point out that, “It is fantastic to see how the lives of so many young people are changed by participating in the Award and, personally, is a great source of satisfaction to continue supporting this very worthwhile of causes”.

The Award is naturally delighted that James Gaggero has joined the Fellowship, currently the only Gibraltarian to have done so, and is extremely grateful for all his support past and present. In thanking him David Dumas said, “James’ very generous support augurs very well for the future and I extend the warmest of thanks on behalf of the Council, leaders and participants.”

The Award is an exciting youth development Programme open to all young people between the ages of 14 and 25. For further information please contact the Director, Michael Pizzarello, on 20059818 or email mjpizza@gibtelecom.net

The Award is a challenge, for everyone! So, get involved you will not regret it!
