Annual General Meeting
The Gibraltar Group of Professional Engineers will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 1 December 2009 commencing at 7pm in the John Mackintosh Hall. To close the meeting, Mr. Chaim Scheff B.Sc., M.Sc., P.E., will deliver an intriguing talk on the subject of "Patents for Engineers".
Visit to Canal Sur Television
Members of the Group visited the headquarters of Canal Sur Television (RTVA) in Seville last week. The Head of Engineering took members on a tour of the installations having special engineering interest such as audio visual data flow management, input-output, computer hard-drive storage systems and archiving. The Group also looked at the seamless programme delivery and ingest for the Newsroom and Production using File-Based applications. Finally a visit to the Master Control Room and studios witnessed a nerve racking experience for the co-ordination of a live transmission of the daily evening programme "Andalucía en directo".
